ARBUG Diamond Award Submission Instructions
How to Submit Your Course for Review
- Provide information about you and your course in the "Self-evalution" section of the submission form (Word Format).
- Self-evaluate your course using the Blackboard Exemplary Course Rubric (PDF Format).
- Contact your Blackboard system administrator to create a back-up of your course and restore it on your server for use by the evaluation team.
- Submit the completed Submission form at http://www.arbug.org/diamond/diamond-award-submission-form/ no later than February 24, 2012.
Self-Evaluation Instructions
- Print a copy of the Blackboard Exemplary Course Rubric (PDF Format).
- For each section of the Blackboard Exemplary Course Rubric (Course Design, Interaction & Collaboration, Assessment, and Learner Support), turn to the appropriate section of the rubric to view the descriptions to help identify your course’s status (Exemplary, Accomplished, Promising, Incomplete).
- Rate your course’s status for each section of the Rubric.
- Provide narrative descriptions and examples in support of your rating selection for each of the 4 sections of the Rubric.
- List and describe three practices from your course that you regard as exemplary for online learning.
Submission Guidelines
- Courses being submitted must be in one of Blackboard’s Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard Academic Suite, Campus Edition/Vista, ANGEL).
- Online access to a copy of the course must be provided to the **Evaluation Team so they can review the four Rubric categories in the learning context.
- The Evaluation Team will need designer, builder, or editor access to the course copy until April 30, 2012.
- Courses submitted for review must have ended by January 1, 2012. Courses in which students are currently enrolled will not be reviewed in order to comply with privacy standards.
- Only courses with a completed Submission Form uploaded to the submission website at http://arbug.org/ will be reviewed.
- All supplementary materials must be converted to electronic format, (PDF, Flash, PowerPoint, Camtasia, Captivate, etc.) and uploaded to the submission website http://www.arbug.org/
- All submissions will be acknowledged by email within 5 business days of receipt of the submission form. If you do not receive an acknowledgment within this time, contact the ARBUG webmaster http://www.arbug.org/.
**Evaluation Team: Each completed Submission will be reviewed by an Evaluation Team consisting of three (3) members, one of which will be familiar with the LMS of the submitted course.
